How It Begins
When my marraige ended in 2012, and working what felt like 24x7 in real estate, I sought out the help of an aupair to help look after the kids on weekends when I worked. I took a small loan to buy a second car so she could ferry the kids around to their activites and sports.
As this kids grew and I took a chance and changed careers into Information Technology I no longer needed the child care help. I did have a second vehicle which those close to me encouraged me to sell.

"Why do you need two cars? You're a single mum!"

Huh? Why should I do that I remember thinking. At that time Car Next Door (Rideshare start up) was just beginning. I listed my car and it started making money being shared with people who needed to get from A to B, were heading away for a weekend down the coast, or international travellers needing a temporary vehicle while visiting Victoria.

This simple concept allows me to generate additional income that supports my household.
Drives to Dollars
I am excited that my friends are now sharing their cars, especially those who work in the city and catch public transport during the week. There are so many people that cannot or decide not to own a vehicle and it's great being able to offer this service to them.
